Fung Loy Kok Institute of Taoism celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2020. Participants were encouraged to think about 50 reasons for practicing Taoist Tai Chi® arts. As I reflect on my years of Taoist Tai Chi® practice, physical benefits such as better balance and strength come to my mind. I am still quite flexible despite my age. However, what is more important is how my practice has helped me to remain calm, which is especially critical now when waves of Covid 19 have kept affecting our way of life. Saturday chanting and discussion from the Directors enable me to stay focused and connected to others. Furthermore, I am inspired to use this opportunity to become a stronger Leader-in-Training. Now my self practice is not only for my own health, but also for improving the health of others.
