Listening to the Body

(English Translation Below)

Lately I was thinking a lot about my individual training and about what changed during last year which was very difficult in all fields.

I’ve been practicing my individual training since I started doing Taoist Tai Chi® practice, but from last year I am trying to do it more consciously. I find this way to be very satisfying for me, because I can concentrate more on my feelings.

I’m finding way back to the basics of his teachings because I still feel they are not strong enough and I have to continue working on them.

My body is more relaxed and elastic. When I’m practicing some movements I feel them being more consistent but with others (especially kicks) I feel their emptiness.  I feel the changes, better weight shifting and sacral area is doing more work.

I try to let my body do the movements alone and I notice easiness, consistency and it feels awesome.

Long ago I noticed the change in my walking. I walk easily and more effectively. I am able to walk the same way in a shorter time, effortless and I feel more energy on the contrary.

Next change is the using of my left arm – I use it more often and now I even prefer using it sometimes.

Last year I focused on my economy with my energy – I observed where I lose my energy and where I obtain it. I could also do some improvements to my daily time management.

The overall result is terrible but is very very slowly improving.

I realize it in daily routine situations, for example when I’m grating carrots I use great and disproportionate force. When I notice it, I put down the elbow, reduce the pressure and I discover that it needs a very little force to grate the carrot!

I am losing my energy in the situations when I am not in harmony with my feelings.

On the contrary when I listen to my feelings and do things along with them, I feel fine and full of energy. In countless situations, I’ve noticed that I’m using my effort to please people and I’m trying to be good for them and then I am angry with myself for doing that. I also noticed that when I am not focused enough, I make mistakes and then I have to come back to correct those mistakes. It’s a waste of my energy.

In many situations I also noticed that I waste my energy on things like when I’m on the phone I tend to scream sometimes and I also bother other people around me with it. Then I realize that I don’t have to do that and rather save my energy. Overall I consider myself to be very clumsy and noisy.

Thanks to the practicing of his teachings, chanting and discussions, which are my source of energy, I realized that I can believe in my body unconditionally and my feelings which are speaking to me.

I spent most of my lifetime imprisoned in my head and this connection with my body is a great discovery for me! Now I realize my body is an awesome and perfect “machine”, which is naturally effective and self-healing when I don´t interfere with it.

Saturday sessions are not only the source of information and instructions but they are also English lessons for me.

Reading and translating texts from English is an inspiration for me. This language study is effortless for me, because the topics are very interesting. In the book Seven Taoist Masters I am finding a lot of parallels with our practice and I can see myself in several characters from the book.

Volunteering enriches me, I learn new things and I have a good feeling about contributing my piece to something good what we are trying to create.

I am grateful for having an opportunity to be a part of this community. I give my sincere thanks to the leaders for everything they teach us and I am looking forward to new discoveries which will come next on my path!
