Contact your company’s personnel or human resources office to see if your current employer, the company from which you retired, or your spouse’s employer, has a matching gift program. When an employee makes a charitable contribution, the company matches the donation and forwards the check to the Society directly.

Gifts of Securities

Securities are a great vehicle, as donors most often avoid capital gains tax and may be able to claim an income tax deduction as well. For more information about gifts of securities, call the Society office, toll free, at (888) 668-6063.

Gifts in Memory or Celebration

Making a donation to the Society is a meaningful way to honor or to remember someone special. Please remember to provide the name of the person in whose celebration or memory you are making the gift.

Planned Giving

A deferred, or planned, gift is an excellent way to both meet your estate planning goals and have a significant and lasting effect on the Society’s work.tallahassee cooking

Individual donors can provide for the Society as part of their estate planning. Each of these methods is a means to make a substantial contribution, without requiring a substantial income. These methods of giving may afford the donor a number of tax savings and income possibilities as well.

Will or Bequest

There are several ways to make a bequest. You can leave the Society a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the residue (or portion of the residue) of the estate after you have provided for those close to you. The Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA may be named a contingent beneficiary in your will – meaning that the Society will receive money only if the other beneficiaries in your will die before you. You may name the Society as the beneficiary of the assets of a trust transferable to the Society at the death of the beneficiary. Bequests are added to the Society’s general operating budget unless otherwise specified in the will.

Insurance or Retirement Plan

Naming the Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy or retirement plan, such as 401(k), 403 (b), IRA, SEP, is an easy way to make a gift without sacrificing any benefits to you in your lifetime. In the case of a retirement plan, naming a nonprofit beneficiary can sometimes prevent certain taxes from being assessed.

Donor Advised Fund

A Donor Advised Fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities. Increasingly popular charitable vehicles, DAFs are an excellent way to both simplify your charitable giving and facilitate your strategic philanthropic goals. The Society could be designated as one of your charities of choice through a DAF.ttcs_banquet
