History of  Taoist Tai Chi  arts in New Zealand

The Taoist Tai Chi Society began in New Zealand in 1990 when students of Master Moy Lin Shin, Cliff and Shelly Slater, arrived from Britain. They began teaching classes in Tauranga where the first NZ branch was established.

The society was incorporated as a non-proft organisation in 1991 and the New Zealand National Centre was opened in Rotorua in November 1993.  This building was bought with the help of Master Moy and a loan from our sister society in Australia.

In 2012, owing to changing requirements the building hosting the National Centre was sold. This allowed the society in New Zealand to continue to expand into new areas.

There are currently six branches offering classes in over 30 locations around the country.
