Travel arrangements

This year CIT Week starts on Monday August 10 at at 10:00am, and ends on Saturday August 15 at 2:00pm.

We recommend you make your travel plans accordingly and allow at least 3-4 hours between the arrival or departure of your flight, train or bus and your arrival at or departure from the centre.

Airport pickups

Pick up for arrivals on Sunday, August 9th:
– Find your way to Terminal 3, outside, Departures Level, Post 5.
– This is a large pick up day, we will try our best to pick you up in a timely fashion.
– If after 2 hours from your arrival time you have not been picked up, please call the Centre at this toll free number:  1-(877) 585-8822

Pick up for arrivals on any other day:
– For Terminal 1: outside Arrival level, Area “F”;
– For Terminal 3: outside Arrival Level, outer lane near Post 2.

Please watch for our marked vehicle and wear clothing with one of our logos visible or display a print of our logo. As long as you have given us your correct flight information, we will be able to track any changes to your arrival time. Someone will pick you up, be patient and do not leave the Airport.

Ample, gender divided, shared accommodation is available at the Centre. However, due to number of participants expected, we ask that those who can to bring tents, your own bedding and supplies. We encourage people living within commuting distance to sleep at home and offer billets if possible.

If you require private accommodation, you will need to make your own arrangements at your own expense. If this is what you choose to do, make sure to reserve early; offsite accommodations are very busy during this season. The information package includes a list of nearby B&Bs, hotels and motels.

Dragon Practice

There will be daily dragon practice sessions during CIT Week.: from 8.30 – 9.30 AM and 1.30 – 2.30 PM. To join, send a message to the Dragon team.

Want to get an idea what you would be practicing for? See the video’s featuring our dragons on our Youtube Channel.

Spending time at the International Centre as a volunteer will help deepen your understanding of our community and organisation. We encourage you to arrive early and stay on after programs to help with making CIT Week/IAD a success.
See the information package for further details on short-term volunteering.
